We\u2019re running a public engagement exercise until 29 June 2025 to give you the chance to have your say and help councillors decide what should replace us.&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>How do councils work in Worcestershire now<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Currently services in Worcestershire are split. Worcestershire County Council provides county-wide services like highways and adult social care. &nbsp;Borough, city and district councils \u2013 including Wychavon \u2013 provide localised services including bin collections, street cleaning, planning, parks and leisure, and housing-related services. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"579\" height=\"359\" src=\"https:\/\/cmemailmarketing.co.uk\/img\/BFF128157\/ddcmpimages\/157\/96_32506061713196151066.jpg\" alt=\"People jogsaw pieces\">The Government wants to replace this system with a single council \u2013 known as a unitary council \u2013 which provides all services. The aim is to make local government simpler for residents, while improving services and saving money.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>The options for Worcestershire<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">There are currently two options proposed for Worcestershire:<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"279\" height=\"140\" src=\"https:\/\/cmemailmarketing.co.uk\/img\/BFF128157\/Wychavon%20District%20Council\/Shape%20Worcestershire\/one%20unitary.png\" alt=\"one unitary\"><strong>Replace all councils with&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;one unitary council&nbsp;<\/strong>This option would replace the county council and the six district\/city\/borough councils with just one single council for the whole of Worcestershire.
