Minutes for Cropthorne Parish Council meeting held on Monday 10th June 2024

Cllr Eyre and Crump submitted reports.
The meeting closed for 10 minutes to allow parishioners to address councillors.
4. PLANNING:
a) W/24/00851/FUL Location: Midcott, Middle Lane, Cropthorne, PERSHORE, WR10 3LZ Description of Proposal: Erection of a dwelling and associated access. Cllrs BA and JK left the room for this item.
The PC wish to raise the issue of street parking in the area, particularly during the construction phase of this development. They noted that there may be implications on relation to conservation areas and that this is a matter the planning authority will look at. Otherwise they have no comment to make.
b) W/24/00971/HP Location: Hillview Farm, Field Barn Lane, Cropthorne, Pershore,
WR10 3LY Description of Proposal: Single storey side extension.
The PC have no objection to the proposed extension. Cllrs discussed the matter of duck farming at the site.
5. HIGHWAY MATTERS (TO INCLUDE FLOODING)
a) Parking on verges around village hall. The PC note that this is a matter for the village hall to address in managing their hires and their carparks. The PC would support the village hall installing some minor verge side signs to reinforce their parking messages.
6. PROGRESS REPORTS / UPDATES
a) Clerk’s report – VAS signs have been delivered and the Lengthsman will install the units.
b) Lengthsman – A note will be developed to reinforce what our Lengthsman is able to do around the parish. It will help with requests for action and build an understanding of his role. The PC will ask people reporting matters to us “What 3 Words” app to describe locations accurately and conveniently. They also hope that people will report highways, footpaths and flooding issues directly to the County Council through the County Reports web page.

A small refurbishment project has taken place and the village hall are considering seeking funding for some extra storage facilities.
