Minutes from a meeting of Cropthorne Parish Council held on Monday September 3rd 2018 in the Village Hall at 7pm

- DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST – none declared
- APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Minutes from previous meetings were approved and signed – proposed Cllr Clive, seconded Cllr Segar – all in favour
- PARISHIONERS QUESTION TIME: The following issues were recorded:
a) Lower Croft – a request made from a resident for additional bollards to be sited outside numbers 23 & 24 to stop parking on the grass
b) Middle Lane, Dean Cottage – overgrown hedge needs cutting back
c) Parking Main Street – Increased parking is causing severe problems outside Holland House and junction with Middle Lane – Cllr Eyre advised that the only effective option is for engineering works to be carried out (road narrowing for single lane) but this is not something that Worcs. County Council look favourably upon in areas with no street lighting. She would speak to CC to further advice. The clerk would request data from previous speed checks
d) Quad Bikes – still a problem with riders not wearing helmets
e) Residential living at Stricklands – it was reported that there are 7 mobile homes being lived in. and apparently not paying council tax. The clerk to investigate
- PLANNING:
a) a) 18/00682 – Greenacres – proposed garage and store – Approved by WDC
b) 18/01045 – Riverside Lodge, Neigh Lane – conversion of existing Velux window to dormer window Approved by WDC
c) 18/01582 – Oakleigh, Blacksmiths Lane – Replace existing polycarbonate roof with thermally efficient solid roof – there were no objections to this application
- VILLAGE HALL – This had been circulated to Cllrs in Cllr Kings absence
- HIGHWAY MATTERS
- Field Barn Lane Verges – Some works had been carried out, and is in the hands of CC
- Parking, Blacksmith Lane – the situation has improved slightly, and would be monitored
- DISTRICT COUNCILLORS REPORT – available from clerk or can be found on the village website with these minutes
- MATTERS ARISING:
- Lengthsman – nothing to report
- New Home Bonus – Just under £28,000 available
- Speeding in Brook Lane/Neigh Lane – Cllr Eyre to cover in her report (awaited)
- Bus Service – it has been widely reported that the bus service (other than the school buses) is soon to top. Letters from concerned residents had been received by the clerk. Cllr Eyre advised that CC were looking into a “Uber” approach as the future for rural transport. She also suggested that using Evesham Community Transport may be a cheaper option than the taxi’s that some are using

- GDPR: The Data Protection Policy and Privacy Notice were approved by the parish council. Cllr Segar reminded the clerk of the need to add an ‘opt out’ notice to emails, and a link to the council’s privacy notice.
- AOB/ ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION AT FUTURE MEETINGS:
- Speed Sign (Bell Inn) – it was reported that the speed sign at The Bell was not working efficiently and that there may be a problem with the direction it is pointing and the camber in the road.
